In September
2013 I participated in Against the tides an art exhibition by W2W . The theme was Arabic Culture and the
call was “United For Peace”. This time W2W comes together with artists, performers
and fashion world to Fight Against Cancer. Read on to know more about this
pertinent cause and wonderful event.
Warriors
Walk to Fight Cancer at Against The Tides 2014 an Art EXHIBITION with
a Cause
Dubai,
28th September 2014 – Woman2Woman will be organizing its 5th edition
of Against the tides, an Art EXHIBITION –
which every year has a new theme that takes focus of the Art show, this year we
take on the fight against Cancer with, using Art, Music and Fashion as the form
of expression to send out our message.
Gallery 76
in Dubai International Art Centre we will showcase the first event Warrior Walk
Fashion Show, with 10 models depicting the FASHION
DESIGNS of SASH, a home-grown brand in the UAE, they are better
known as The SASH sisters, Sandhya & Sheetal Rajan
will be the contributing designers to the Warriors, each outfit has been
handcrafted and designed for Against the tides and keeping in mind the message
of Positivity and Strength. The Tribal Body Art will be The Faces of the
Warriors will have Body Art created by the Makeup Masters, Nitasha and Eirini,
founders of My MAKE-UP Moments
& Beauty Guru Malini Ohri, owner of Splendour Hair & Beauty Centre will
be joining hands to create the Warrior looks.
There will be live performances on
Opening Night by locally based singers and musicians, including Rokat, Laura
Khoury & the famous duo Ian & Yasmina, all will be performing live at
the Art EXHIBITION.
The Art Gallery will be graced with
the ARTWORKS of
UAE’s most notable Artists, some of them include, Fatema Raj, Justin Paul, Kim
Oberoi, Ritu Dua, Sathya Sunitha, Biji Divakaran, Bhavani Manoj Kumar, Gomathi
Shiva, Sampriti Chawak, Pari Sagar, Sree Lakshmi, Lalita Sharma & Christos
Psars.
Against the
tides will take place from the 28th of September till the 4th of
October, it is Open to Public at Gallery 76 in DIAC, Jumeria.
