THE LAST CHANCE

THE UTTARAKHAND TRAGEDY  IS HEART WRENCHING. HOPE THIS WAKE UP CALL, PROBABLY OUR LAST CHANCE IS NOT IGNORED

THE LAST CHANCE
Parched pupils jammed onto sky
Sham clouds forming thirsty haze in minds, pry
Shriveled leaves?  No, dried skin on infants’ hands
Cracked terrains? No, arid remains of wretched hearts stand.

Virulent screams raging water consume
Mansions, huts, humans and Gods devoured in crazed fume
Tattered corpses?  No, vengeance of nature
Suffering and pain? No, a desperate cry from future

“Enough!”  She cries, agonies boiled and flooded
Timeless wounds raw, burning with assaults repeated
A mother is tolerant, not blind to sins
Even a murderer is forgiven when repentance grins

Lessons learned or more dwindling in sunken feats?
Time alone to smirk or smile upon uncovered deeds
The river to bend on which course?
Path charted by braves, or that etched by despicable force

Shrieks, reaching ears only in tempestuous times
The last chance granted by tormented mother’s chimes
A mother is tolerant, not blind to sins
Even a murderer is forgiven when repentance grins
